What…Who is..? Why is it spelled like that???

Somewhere between a name and a practice, CRLZ is less about definition and more about what unfolds…Objects, moments, and ideas all taking shape in real time.

CRLZ is an Atlanta-based ceramic artist, curator, and cultural producer. Named by a graffiti writer and raised in the city’s skateparks and nightlife, she was shaped by a community of creatives who defined her visual language long before she did. As the "younger sister" to a generation of DJs, culture bearers, and artists, her practice remains intuitive and deeply connected to the lived environment.

With over a decade in clay, her practice moves through themes of preservation and transformation. She looks to science and nature as systems of structure, and more recently to Brutalist architecture—drawing from its weight, its restraint, and its refusal to disguise material. This eye for atmosphere was inherited from her mother, a former interior designer, who taught her to read objects as emotional systems. It is a lens that now carries into her work with the Walker & Peters Project, where she contributes to exhibitions and community programming like the monthly Castleberry Art Stroll.

Beyond the kiln, CRLZ views art as a vital civic tool. Whether she is leading the pottery studio at Peters Street Station or completing the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Community-Centered Design Program, her focus remains on building space for hands-on engagement. As a part-owner of Framing By Design in Buckhead, she extends this commitment to the final stage of the creative process, ensuring that art is not only made but preserved and presented with intention.
